Organizing Storage Units
Many people have storage units they don't access for months or even years, leading to an "out of sight, out of mind" mentality. Instead of confronting the problem, people often continue to pay for the unit, even if they don't use the items inside. Storage units are also commonly used during transitions between living spaces, movers may stack things too high to access easily, and it's easy to forget the items once they're stored away.
Storage units often become cluttered and difficult to access, making clients spend thousands to store things they don't use often. Weather and poor lighting can make it difficult to sort the items once they are ready to go through your storage unit.
Peaceful Place provides a service to help clients organize and sometimes even eliminate their storage units.
Peaceful Place's process involves pulling everything out, sorting like with like, and getting clients' decisions on what to keep or eliminate. For anything the client decides they want to keep, we use shelves, clear plastic storage totes, and large index cards for labeling to make everything easily accessible for future use.
Often, we can help clients eliminate the storage unit entirely and find space for the remaining items in their homes, either in the basement, attic, or garage, resulting in significant monthly savings, considering the average sized unit costs about $2,000 per year. If you need climate control, that price almost doubles!
In the photos below, you will see that the addition of storage shelves, clear plastic bins, and labels, makes everything easy to find. We were able to eliminate the storage unit for our client and move everything to her basement, saving her money and time!
